Clove essential oil (CT Eugenia caryophyllus)
Cloves are a very popular and sought-after spice plant. During the Renaissance, dried seeds were used in ointments that were supposed to protect against epidemics. In Chinese medicine, cloves are used as a means of alleviating the effects of stress, anxiety, tension and insomnia.
Clove essential oil invigorates the entire body, which is why it is used in aromatherapy to help relieve depression, mental dullness and chronic fatigue. In a tonic, it is used for rinsing the mouth, gargling, and caring for the oral cavity, gums, pharynx and throat. Through massages and baths, it helps to relax tired muscles and joints. In cosmetics, it is effective in the care of acne-prone and oily skin.
