Basil essential oil (CT methyl chavicol)

Basil is also called the »royal herbš, which probably comes from the times when kings were anointed with basil oil at their coronation. In ancient times, it was revered as a sacred plant, and in ancient Ayurvedic medicine it was used to treat various problems and ailments. Basil has a fresh, warm and spicy aroma, which makes it popular in Mediterranean cuisine.

In aromatherapy, it is used in blends for relaxation, to improve concentration and to relieve headaches. Due to its antimicrobial action, its essential oil is used in anti-acne preparations.

– Botanical name: Ocimum basilicum

– Extraction: steam distillation of flowering aerial parts

– Smell: fresh, spicy, herbal

– Scent intensity: strong

– Note: medium to high

– Maximum RIFM concentration: up to 2% (1 to max. 4 drops per 10 ml)
