Myrtle – BIO essential oil
Myrtle is an evergreen shrub that grows in the Mediterranean. Medieval ladies loved to care for their skin with »angel water«, the basic ingredient of which was myrtle. Today it can be found in many toilet waters, and it is also used in the production of liqueurs.
Myrtle essential oil refreshes and invigorates, has a mild and very pleasant scent, which is why, compared to more intense scents such as eucalyptus, it is more popular for relieving respiratory problems, especially in children, the elderly and more sensitive people. It has several effects on the skin: it constricts superficial skin vessels, making it an effective treatment for oily skin and those with enlarged pores, and it is also excellent for treating dry, cracked, and parched skin, restoring strength and toning it. Myrtle oil is an aphrodisiac.
