Sandalwood essential oil
+ the product comes with a dropper for easier use
Sandalwood is an evergreen tree that originates from India. Its wood, sandalwood, was used for its sweet and balsamic scent 4,000 years ago and has been an integral part of Indian culture and beliefs for thousands of years. It is used for relaxation and meditation, it is used as a perfume and incense, and as a medicine in Ayurvedic medicine. Nowadays, sandalwood oil is used in perfumes and in men’s care cosmetics, especially in aftershaves, due to its low, slowly volatile note.
It soothes and softens various skin problems, is an excellent care for dry, dehydrated and cracked skin. It is used for inhalation, compresses and massages. Its scent has an antidepressant and relaxing effect.
Since the true East Indian sandalwood (Santalum album) is severely endangered due to mass deforestation, the essential oil of sandalwood (Santalum austrocaledonicum) was used, which is purposely grown on plantations in New Caledonia and is extremely similar to true sandalwood in terms of composition and aromatherapeutic effects.
