Thyme essential oil (CT thymol)
Sumerian records say that thyme was used as early as 3500 BC. n. št., the ancient Egyptians used it in embalming, thyme was in first place on the medieval list of European magical plants. It has always been used to improve digestion and to improve the taste of food. Thyme grows near the Mediterranean Sea.
Six chemotypes of this oil are used in aromatherapy. Thyme CT thymol is a strong phenolic oil, which is recommended as an aid against infections and respiratory problems. It accelerates the elimination of excess water and harmful substances from the body, which is why it is effective in anti-cellulite creams and preparations; in shampoos and hair tonics it helps against hair loss. It tones the entire body and stimulates blood circulation.
