Chamomile (German) – essential oil
Chamomile has been known for over 4000 years and is one of the most well-known medicinal plants used in both professional and folk medicine. Its components and active ingredients are well-studied. They include chamazulene, a substance that gives the essential oil its characteristic blue color, which distinguishes German chamomile from ordinary (Roman) chamomile.
Chamazulene has an anti-inflammatory effect and accelerates wound healing. In aromatherapy preparations, German chamomile is known for its beneficial effects on numerous mental disorders (calming, relieving hyperactivity, irritability and insomnia). It is also often used in mixtures for headaches. In cosmetics and personal care, it is used for faster recovery of very sensitive and damaged skin.
